Nine Fragments on the Internet, 2021

9 videos, 0:30sec each

Philosopher Byung-Chul Han writes “After a certain point, information ceases to be informative, It becomes deformative. Likewise, communication stops being communicative, it is only cumulative". '9 Fragments on the Internet' speaks on the metaphorical shattering of the internet and the disorderly chaos we encounter when we surf the web. On the internet, time and space are flattened and narratives are disjointed, never fully beginning nor ending. On the internet, humor exists next to the horrifying: fragments of memes followed by tragic news stories next. How do we make sense of information in this disorderly network and find clarity in the noise? The work was initially presented as 9 separate videos in a 3x3 grid posted on the @t.ransienttt Instagram account as part of their online residency.
